Wilma Friedli Obituary

Wilma (Black) Friedli, 90, passed peacefully into glory to be with Jesus Christ on May 30, 2021.

Wilma was born July 26, 1930, in Broken Bow, OK. She, along with her parents and siblings, picked cotton as their way of living. Wilma finished 8th grade and soon after married Alvie Pressley. She next moved to California and met and married Armin Friedli in 1952. Wilma lived in California for more than 50 years. During this time, she was elected President of her local PTA, ran the local elementary school library, and served as a Girl Scout Brownies leader. She enjoyed bowling and was in a bowling league for several years. Wilma also loved camping with friends and family all over the Pacific Northwest, Idaho, and Wyoming, and she made yearly trips to visit family in the southern states. In her middle years, Wilma became a fantastic oil painter and served as the Fortuna Art Council President for many years. She and Armin also spent many a Saturday night at The Swiss Club in Loleta, CA. She loved doing the Polka.

Following the death of her husband Armin, she moved to Arkansas to be near her family. She then made her final move to Manitowoc to live with her granddaughter, Rhiannon Ashbeck. Wilma spent the last six years living with Monica Larson, her precious caretaker and very best friend.

Wilma is survived by two daughters, Patty Bradshaw (David) of De Queen, Arkansas, and Cindi Ashbeck (Larry) of Manitowoc, WI; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and numerous others she considered as family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, brothers, and sisters.

Per Wilma’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private service was held.
