William “Bill” P. Monka, age 81 of Two Rivers, died Saturday, July 17th, 2021, of a heart attack.
Bill was born on September 30th, 1939, in Two Rivers, to the late Albert & Lillian (Weber) Monka. He graduated with the class of 1957 at Two Rivers Washington High School. Bill enlisted in the Air Force, serving our country for four years. On January 27th, 1962, Bill married the love of his life Sandra Sommers. Bill worked as an electrical lineman for the city of Two Rivers for most of his working career. Bill was an avid bicyclist and gardener. Using his many talents, Bill was always helping others with home related projects. Bill’s memory will live on by all the furniture he made for family and friends.
Bill is survived by his loving wife Sandy of almost 60 years, daughter Christine (Timothy) Miller, son Gregory (Kathy) Monka, five grandchildren: Cole (Morgan) Monka, Sean Miller, Dakota Monka, Alec Miller, Allison Monka, and one great granddaughter Tegan Monka. He is also survived by his sister Mary Krey, brother Michael (Bonnie) Monka, sister-in-law DeeAnn Monka, brother-in-law Jim (Ann) Sommers as well as several nephews, nieces, other family, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, parent in-laws Ben and Dora Sommers, son Douglas Monka, brother Robert Monka, and sister Susie Hess, brother-in-law Dick Krey, and nephew Peter Krey.
Cremation has taken place at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc and funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Grace Congregational United Church of Christ, Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Kim Henning and the Rev. Colie Bettivia.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at the church from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
