William "Bill" Braun Obituary

William C. “Bill” Braun, a former Manitowoc resident passed away on Friday, September 9, 2022.

William was born December 19, 1939, son of the late Clarence and Lucille (Rief) Braun. Bill served in the United States Marine Corps, serving in Vietnam from 1963-1965. He married the late Sandy Krebbs on May 14, 2005, in Madison and she preceded him in death on June 8, 2013. Bill worked as a Multimedia Service Manager for over 30 years at the UW Madison. He had a passion for music, was a public broadcaster, was a member of a Barbershop Quartet and the Madison Philharmonic Choir. Bill was also a diehard Packer fan.

Bill is survived by two children: Helen (Dan) Maki, AZ, and Amy (Michelle Bannister) Braun, AZ; grandchildren: Anna and Josh Maki; brother: Gordon (Jan) Braun; sister-in-law: Nancy Braun. He was preceded in death by his parents: Clarence and Lucille Braun; his wife: Sandy Krebbs; brother: Robert Braun.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Parish, 3201 Mishicot Rd, Two Rivers, with Rev. Dave Pleier officiating. Friends and Family may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of services at 11:00 am. Burial of his remains will be at Holy Cross Cemetery following services with military Honors.
