Thomas P. Gintner “Big Tom”, age 65 of Two Rivers passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 15, 2022 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center of Green Bay with his family at his side.

Tom was born on November 8, 1956 son of Donna (Parizek) Fischer and the late Louis B. Gintner. He attended Valders High School graduating in 1975. Tom was an avid hunter and fisherman enjoying many outings with his brothers and family. He was a lifetime member of Walleyes For Tomorrow and cofounded the Whitelaw Sportsman Club Kids Fish Derby. Tom worked for various construction companies retiring in 2010, making lasting friendships with all the crews he worked with. He was a member of the Construction & Laborers Union #330. Tom loved spending time in the garage playing cribbage and sometimes a heated game of Sheepshead. He was a fan of the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers and the Milwaukee Brewers.

Tom loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was quite the joke teller with a hearty laugh that we will all miss. Being with Tom was always an adventure, leaving many of us with a good story.

Tom is survived by his wife: Susan (Hartman) Traeger, Two Rivers; his two children include: Julie Pearson, Two Rivers, Michael (Kristine) Traeger, Two Rivers; four grandchildren: Matthew “Pete” Traeger and special friend: Kristen, Kaitlyn “Alice” Traeger, Wyatt “Rooster” Pearson, Chloe “Lucy” Pearson, special names given by “Big Pa”; his mother: Donna Fischer, Manitowoc; brothers and sisters include: Dan Gintner, St. Nazianz, Jane (Gary) Dworak, Two Rivers, Randy (Lori) Gintner, Branch, Shelly (Chris) Katz, Two Rivers, Chris (Diane) Gintner, Branch; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law include: Roger (Sue) Hartman, IN, Sharon (Wayne) Stelzer, Branch, Kim Graves, Two Rivers, Terry (Gay) Hartman, Manitowoc; also surviving are many special nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his father: Louis Gintner; infant sister: Karen Gintner; two brothers-in-law: Jeffrey Herrmann, Joe Graves; one niece: Katie Jo Hastreiter; maternal grandparents: Edward (Viola) Parizek; paternal grandparents: Louis (Clara) Gintner; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Alois (Grace) Hartman; his two furry pals: Whiskey and Myrna.

A memorial service will be held at 7:30 PM on Friday, June 24, 2022 at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, 1124 Main Street, Kellnersville. The service will be officiated by Lisa Novachek, Celebrant. Burial of his cremated remains will take place at a later date at the Branch Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Friday at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Lakeshore Family Funeral Homes, Reinbold & Pfeffer Kellnersville location is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a fish and wild life organization or a sportsman’s club in Tom’s name. Tom’s family would like to thank the Two Rivers Ambulance Service for all of the help they have given Tom over the years. Also, a special thank you to the ICU and third floor doctors and nurses at Aurora BayCare for all of the wonderful care given to Tom.
