Shirley M. Blahnik, age 92, formerly of Kellnersville, passed away Tuesday afternoon, November 30, 2021 at Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation Center in Manitowoc.
Shirley was born on August 12, 1929 in the Town of Franklin, daughter of the late Theodore and Ella (Collins) Meyer. She attended St. Patrick School in Maple Grove. On October 8, 1949 she married Edward “Coogan” Blahnik at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Maple Grove. He preceded her in death on October 12, 1975. Shirley worked for Mirro-Foley retiring in 1989. Shirley enjoyed puzzles, playing cards, bingo, gambling, and taking bus trips with her friends. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kellnersville, the Rosary Society and also a member of the WFLA Lodge of Menchalville.
Survivors include her five children: Debra (Arthur) Schultz, Reedsville, Sherry Blahnik, Kellnersville, Alan Blahnik (Calvin Wilson), Orlando, FL, Tammy (William) Novak, Reedsville, Lee (Alice) Blahnik, Kellnersville; eight grandchildren: Jamie (April) Schultz, Brian (Lisa) Schultz, Chris (Vicki) Schultz, Jason (Melinda) Schultz, Megan Novak, Joshua Novak, Aaron (Rose) Burns, Ashley Blahnik and fiancé Andrew Bednar; five great-grandchildren: Mason Schultz, Lydia Schultz, Olivia Schultz, Hunter Schultz, Tanner Schultz, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Theodore and Ella Meyer; her husband: Edward “Coogan” Blahnik; four brothers and three sisters-in-law: Robert Meyer, Harold (Patricia) Meyer, Theodore (June) Meyer Jr., Wayne (Diane) Meyer; two sisters and two brothers-in-law: LaVerne (Richard) Grall, Catherine (Andy) Anderson.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kellnersville. The Rev. Santiago Turiano Jr. will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial of her cremated remains to follow at the Knollwood Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may call at the Church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass at 11:00 AM.
