Sharon Wojta Obituary

Sharon Ann Wojta, 84, Two Rivers, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at The Court at Felician Village.

Sharon Ann was born April 28, 1939 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Hubert B. and Ethel R. (Shaden) Simono.  She attended Saint Luke’s School and Washington High School, Two Rivers, where she enjoyed Polliwogs and Art, graduating with the class of 1957.  After graduation, Sharon attended the Layton School of Fine Arts in Milwaukee.  On February 6, 1960, she married Gerald C. Wojta at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Two Rivers.  Sharon enjoyed raising her children and grandchildren, teaching ethical and Christian principles; educating the local community on swimming safety and Christian doctrine; art modalities such as murals at work/calligraphy.  She is best remembered by family and friends for creating a warm and loving environment for all.  Sharon took a genuine interest in the people close to her.

She is survived by her children:  Michael Wojta, Two Rivers; Todd (Kay) Wojta, Madison; Wendy (James) Kukla, Sheboygan; Sheri (Andrew) Helwig, Dousman; her eleven grandchildren:  Michelle Wojta, Christopher Wojta, Mark Wojta, Eric (Rachel) Wojta, Kyle (Allison) Wojta, Natalie (Zachary) Borzick, Cole Kukla, Paige Kukla,  Jamie (Kent) Halleen, Brett (Kerri) Helwig and Jordan Helwig; her five great grandchildren:  Isabella Wojta, Liliana Wojta; Elise Halleen, Charlie Halleen and Clay Halleen; her sister Marlene Kohlmeier: her sister-in-law LeaAnn Wojta

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Wojta; sister, Judith Strebel; brothers- and sisters-in-law:  Wayne Kohlmeier, Jerry Strebel, Ronald Wojta, LouAnn Wojta, and Robert and Marilyn Hendrickson.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Saint Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Road,Two Rivers.  Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Richard Klingeisen. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends at Saint Peter the Fisherman prior to the mass from 9:30-11:00 a.m.
