Rita May Maples, 67, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at Shady Lane in Manitowoc.
Rita was born on February 11, 1956 in Manitowoc to Joseph and Edith (Scheurell) Maples. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School. Rita was a dedicated and loving caretaker. She had a strong faith, loved her Lord, and Savior and attended Trinity Alliance Church in Manitowoc when she was able to. Rita enjoyed listening to Christian music and watching Christian movies.
Rita is survived by her sisters: Mary Basler, JoAnn LaFleur, and Lynn Maples; and nieces and nephews: Chantel (significant other Devonte) Shaw, Anthony (Nou) Basler, Sarah (Joshua) Kunstmann, Jennifer (Robert) Van, and Jeremiah (Erika) LaFleur. She is further survived by great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Rita was preceded in death by her parents; sister: Ann Brown; two brothers-in-law: James Basler and David LaFleur; and nephew: Christopher Brown.
A memorial service to celebrate Rita’s life will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at 11:00 am at Lakeshore Life Celebration (Peace United Church of Christ), 3613 Waldo Blvd, with Rev. Wayne Anderson officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at the Lakeshore Life Celebration Center from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Burial of cremains will take place at Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
