Patrick F. Cavanaugh

Patrick F. Cavanaugh, age 92, a Two Rivers resident, passed away Sunday, November 28, 2021 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center, Green Bay.

He was born October 27, 1929 in Manitowoc, WI, son of the late Patrick and Mary (Morgan) Cavanaugh. Patrick attended Manitowoc Public Schools and Sacred Heart School. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1946. On August 18, 1962, he married Karen A. DuFano at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Patrick was employed at Manitowoc Engineering for 25 years and at Hamilton Industries as a wood detailer for 25 years, retiring in 1996. He volunteered at Aurora Medical Center of Manitowoc County for seven years after his retirement. Patrick was a member of Manitowoc Eagles #706 since 1956. He was involved in Masquers with his wife Karen for over ten years. Patrick enjoyed camping, especially at Evergreen Campsites in Wild Rose for 25 years, and then at their cottage in Door County for 13 years. He was an avid Packer fan and attended games at the old Packer stadium, and then purchased season tickets at Lambeau Field when it was built. The tickets are still in the Cavanaugh family.

Patrick is survived by his wife Karen; two daughters: Colleen (Myron) Genrich, Collins, and Cathleen (Jody) Holm, Rapid River, MI; granddaughter: Shannon (Craig) Scanlon, Golden Valley, MN; two great-grandchildren: Conor “CJ” Scanlon and Emma Scanlon; one brother: Donald (Linda) Cavanaugh; sister-in-law: Sharon (Martin) Komisar; and special friends: Francis (Flyn), Mike, and Cory. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Arthur and Mary DuFano; granddaughter: Sara Genrich; and sisters-in-law: Katherine (William) Goetz and Irene (Anthony) Kumbalek.

Cremation has occurred at the All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Klein and Stangel Funeral Home, 1420 22nd Street, Two Rivers. The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Klein and Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers.
