Michael J. Wanek

Michael J. Wanek, age 72, of Two Rivers passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at his residence.

Mike was born June 25, 1949 in Two Rivers, son of Marie (Vondruska) Wanek and the late Raymond Wanek, Jr.  He was a graduate of Washington High School, Two Rivers.  Mike married the former Joye Sleger on August 24, 1968 in Two Rivers.  Mike was an engineer for Manitowoc Cranes for many years before his retirement.

Survivors include his wife:  Joye Wanek, Two Rivers; one son:  Scott Allen Wanek, Two Rivers; his mother, Marie Wanek; his siblings:  Rose (Pete) Szalewski, Townsend; Sally Serrahan, Ogema; Sandy Wanek, Two Rivers; Richard (Debra) Wanek, Two Rivers; several other relatives and friends.  Mike was preceded in death by an infant son, Steven, and by his father.

Services will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers.  Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Pleier with burial to take place at Knollwood Mausoleum, following services.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at the church from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
