Michael Gadzinski Obituary

Michael Alois Gadzinski, age 86, of Manitowoc, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023 at Aurora Hospital in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. Mike was born January 15th, 1937 to the late Alois and Irene (Hein) Gadzinski in Manitowoc, WI.

Mike had lived with his parents until their passing and while there, spent his days happily riding his bike throughout Manitowoc, visiting all of his friends and family.  Frequent trips to Boelters, Shopko Pharmacy, Chewy’s, Mirro Aluminum Co., Manitowoc Co., Memorial Hospital Clinic, and Hein Plumbing, to name just a few.  He would visit his brothers, Ron and Pat, at their work, hoping for money to assist him with his daily travels.  Mike was very competitive and loved playing ball tag with his brothers in his younger years.  He loved visiting his dear friend, Bill Frieder, on the 4th floor at Mirro Aluminum Co.  When Mike didn’t feel well, he would sit for hours, if need be, talking with others while waiting for his favorite doctor, Annette Kaminsky.  He enjoyed visiting Fr. Ed Nowakowski and his parrots, even after Fr. Ed was transferred to Armstrong Creek. His brother Ron made sure Mike always stayed in touch.  Mike looked forward to working with his close friend, Chewy, at his local business.  He loved to ride his bike to the County Fair each year to meet up with his friends and family.  When his bike was taken at the county fair one year, five local business owners/friends whom he frequented, bought him a new bike for which he was forever grateful for their special kindness.

Mike was the Green Bay Packers biggest fan.  Aaron Rodgers was his favorite conversation, and the keeper of many jerseys and memorabilia of Rodgers.  He loved watching TV Land, The Andy Griffith show and Gun Smoke his favorite and Green Bay Packer’s games.  He loved playing card games with Ron’s grandchildren, who always allowed him to win.  He waited anxiously for Ron and Marilyn to bring him his weekly treat of Culver’s chocolate shakes. Sharon’s chocolate chip cookies were the best!  He loved Christmas and his birthdays where he was showered with new Packer jerseys and Navy shirts gifted by his niece, Heather, a Navy veteran whom he was so proud of.

Mike had a full and happy life, filled with family and many friends. His innocence made everyone realize what was truly important in life.  He was a true joy to all who had the privilege in knowing him. His laugh was infectious and Mike will be dearly missed.  We were blessed with Mike’s unconditional love and innocence for 86 years. Mike is surely in heaven with his Mom, Dad, and brother Ron “Butch”, and many friends and he will remain forever in our hearts.

A special thank you to the caretakers and many friends at Fieldcrest Manor for the care and love they provided Mike over the years.  He cherished his time with you and his family is grateful for your creating an extended family for Mike.

Survivors include Mike’s brothers: Patrick Gadzinski, Manitowoc, WI, Conrad (Sharon) Gadzinski, Manitowoc, WI:  Tony Gadzinski (Tammy) Manitowoc, WI. His sister-in law Marilyn Gadzinski and many nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents: Alois and Irene Gadzinski, his brother Ronald Gadzinski.
