Marlene Braunel Obituary

Marlene A. Braunel, age 84, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2022 at Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Marlene was born August 8, 1937 in Two Rivers and was the eldest daughter of the late Viola and Martin Koch. She attended Two Rivers High School. On November 11, 1988 she married Clyde Braunel. Most of her life she was a homemaker and worked at the Inn on Maritime Bay as Housekeeping Supervisor.

Marlene was a long-time member and past President of the Manitowoc Eagles Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, painting, card making, playing games and cards, flower gardening, puzzles and watching the birds.

She is survived by her husband Clyde; five sons and one daughter: Tom (Sue) LaPean, Richard (Special friend Julie) LaPean, David (Special friend Jackie) LaPean, James (Debbie) LaPean, Steve (Sarah) LaPean, Lori (Dale) Eisenschink; step children: Jeff Braunel, Greg (Special friend Jackie) Braunel, Wayne (Sue) Braunel; 19 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; two sisters: Cindy (Dale) Debauche, Mary (Tom) Luedtke; one brother: Jim (Kathy) Koch; as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Martin and Viola Koch; two sisters: Lou Ann Huntington, Alice LeClair; brother-in-law: Bob Le Clair; and one brother: Marvin Koch.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, January 17, 2022, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 S.14th Street, Manitowoc. Deacon Alan Boeldt will officiate with burial of her cremated remains at Knollwood Memorial Gardens at a later date. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday at 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. The family asks that regardless of immunization status that masks are worn.
