Joyce A. “Cookie” Lodel, age 79, formerly of rural Reedsville and currently of Manitowoc, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2022 at her residence in Manitowoc.
The former Joyce Stenzel was born on November 10, 1942, in the township of Franklin, daughter of the late Walter and Florence (King) Stenzel. She attended local schools. On October 31, 1960, Cookie was married to Richard E. Lodel in Manitowoc. Over the years she worked in various factories in Manitowoc County. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and the Oneida Nation. Cookie was a Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events.
Survivors include her husband: Richard Lodel, Manitowoc; her four children: Ric Lodel, Manitowoc; Tony (Marcia) Lodel, Newton; Sheri Lodel, Grand Island, NE; Mike (Sarah) Lodel, Reedsville; six grandchildren: Wesley (Fiancée Brittany), Hayden, Chloe, Matthew, Logan, Lucas; four brothers and sisters-in-law: Walter (Lorraine) Stenzel, Valders; Charles (Darlene) Stenzel, Reedsville; William (Laurie) Stenzel, Manitowoc; James (Sue) Stenzel, Clarks Mills; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Walter and Florence Stenzel; one daughter: Belle Ann Lodel; three brothers and two sisters-in-law: David Stenzel, Edward (Elaine) Stenzel, Elmer (Carol) Stenzel; one sister and brother-in-law: Geraldine (Lloyd) Free; father-in-law and mother-in-law: George and Eleanor Lodel.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am Friday, January 7, 2022 at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders. Burial will follow in the Valders West Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at Faith Lutheran Church on Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 3:00pm until 6:00pm and on Friday, from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am.
