John Huske Obituary

John G. Huske, age 67, of rural Reedsville, passed away peacefully in his sleep Tuesday, August 2nd, 2022 at his home.

John was born on July 31st, 1955 in Frankfort, Michigan, son of the late John and Elmira (Christianson) Huske. At the age of 5, the family moved to Valders, and he grew up and attended schools in Valders. In 1972, John entered the United States Army, serving until 1975. On December 6, 1975, John married Karen M. Lemberger at Silver Lake College in Manitowoc. He was a semi-truck driver for 35 years, retiring at the age of 62.

John was a passionate Harley Davidson motorcycle and snowmobile rider. He belonged to the Inland Snowblazers Snowmobile Club, Vietnam Veterans Post #731 of Manitowoc, AmVets Post #1032 of Reedsville, and Faith Lutheran Church of Valders.

Dad was a big kid at heart, he loved his grandchildren and spending time with them.  The kids knew they could count on Grandpa having candy in the saddlebags of his motorcycle.  Need road trip advice?  John’s the guy.  But expect to hear directions in miles and mile markers instead of hours and landmarks.  He enjoyed trips to Yellowstone with the snowmobile club, Sturgis runs with friends both new and old, and he always found someone he knew no matter where he went.

Survivors include his wife Karen Huske, rural Reedsville, two daughters and sons-in-law: Kit (Hank) Horn, Brillion, and Joanne Huske (David Bilski), Pinckney, MI, seven grandchildren: Simon, Emma, Nickolas, Harper, Astrid, Lars, and Micah, two brothers and sisters-in-law: Wayne (Terry) Huske, Whitelaw, Charles Huske (Deby Peace), Hilbert, one sister and brother-in-law: Karen Huske (John Seidl), Brown Deer, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law include: Donald Salmon (Maria Zehren), Charles Olson, Linda Koenig-Huske, Barbara Johnson, Ralph Lemberger, and Donna (Randall) Krippner, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Elmira Huske, one brother: Gary Huske, and three sisters: Joyce Salmon, Barbara Olson, and Janice Huske.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 6th, 2022 at Faith Lutheran Church (225 Roosevelt St., Valders). The Rev. Jim Wilson will officiate with burial to follow in the Valders West Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by AmVets Post #1032 of Reedsville and the Vietnam Veterans Post #731 of Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm.
