Gerald E. Raether

Gerald E. Raether, age 75 of Manitowoc, passed away on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024 at the Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc.

Gerald was born on May 17, 1948 in Manitowoc, son of the late Elmer and Adeline (Wilde) Raether.  He grew up in the town of Manitowoc Rapids and farmed on the family farm until his retirement.  Gerald also helped neighbors and relatives on their farms.  He was a lifelong member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Newtonburg.

Survivors include one sister and brother-in-law:  Jeanette (John) Mahloch, Manitowoc, one sister-in-law, Pat Kuehn, Manitowoc; two nephews, Daryl (Tina) Mahloch and Dale (Tracy) Mahloch, two grandnephews, Anthony Mahloch and Jackson Mahloch, two grandnieces, Karlee Mahloch and Emily Mahloch.  Other relatives and friends also survive.  He was preceded in death by his parents:  Elmer and Adeline Raether, and one brother, Donald Raether.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 8, 2024 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, 7531 English Lake Road, Manitowoc.  Rev. Micah Martin will officiate with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Friends and family may call at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.  The Lakeshore Family Funeral Homes, Reinbold and Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be expressed to the family by visiting www.lakeshorefamilyfuneralhomes.com
