Francis J. Denor

Francis J. Denor, age 97, formerly of Manitowoc passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022 at the Shorehaven Retirement Community in Oconomowoc.

Francis was born on April 27, 1924 in Manitowoc, son of the late Frank and Marie (Dugan) Denor. He grew up in Manitowoc and was a 1942 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On April 23, 1943 Francis became a member of the Army Air Corp, serving during WWII and was honorably discharged on February 16, 1946. On September 7, 1946 Francis married the former Florence Scanlan at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on July 1, 2004. Francis was a former member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Manitowoc.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law: Barbara (James) Zagrodnik, Sullivan; two sons and one daughter-in-law: Patrick (Barbara) Denor, Elkhorn; Gary Denor, Minneapolis, MN; four granddaughters: Heather Schneider, Erika Snyder, Marissa Schleicher, Krista Walker; nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: Frank and Marie Denor; his wife: Florence Denor; one brother: Norbert Denor; one sister: Margaret Hurin.

Cremation has taken place with burial of his cremated remains at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. Per Francis’ wishes there will be no services held.

A memorial fund has been established for the Francis and Florence Denor Scholarship Fund at Roncalli High School, Manitowoc.
