Francis “Butch” J. Bolzenthal, age 79, formerly of Manitowoc, and currently a resident of Scandinavian Court in Denmark, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Scandinavian Court.
Butch was born on March 5, 1942 in Milwaukee, son of the late Albert and Sylvia (Kerscher) Bolzenthal. He grew up in Manitowoc County and was a 1960 graduate of Two Rivers Washington High School. Following his graduation from high school he became a member of the United States Air Force in 1963 and was Honorably Discharged in 1967. On June 26, 1982 Butch was married to the former Christina Neal in Algoma. Over the years Butch dairy farmed and hobby farmed, worked as a pipe fitter for Bay Ship Building and delivered the Herald Times Reporter until the time of his retirement. He loved baseball, football and hobby farming.
Survivors include his wife: Christina Bolzenthal; one daughter and son-in-law; Karla (Matthew) Daron, two sons and daughters-in-law: Michael (Audrey) Bolzenthal, Daniel (Crystal) Bolzenthal, all of Manitowoc; seven grandchildren: Krystan, Raymond, Nicholas, Lily, Lola, Lacy and Ariel; two great-grandchildren: Theo and Kendall; two sisters and two brothers-in-law: Janet (Allen) Haws, Two Rivers, Carole Anhalt, Manitowoc, Edwin Skarivoda, Manitowoc, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Albert and Sylvia Bolzenthal; one sister: JoAnn Skarivoda; three brothers-in-law: Jim Anhalt, Willard Neal, Allan Neal, one sister-in-law: Julie Ross; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Willard and Lillian Neal.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at the Klein & Stangel Funeral Home, 1420 22nd Street, Two Rivers. The Rev. David Pleier will officiate. Cremation has taken place at the All-Care Cremation Center of Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Military Honors will be accorded by the Two Rivers VFW Post #1248 and the American Legion Post #165 at the funeral home following the service.
