Elton W. Commings

Elton W. Commings, age 92 of Manitowoc, passed away Tuesday evening March 28, 2023, at Sylvan Crossing Assisted Living Home in Manitowoc.

Elton was born on November 15, 1930, in Manitowoc County, a son of the late Erhardt and Gerda (Koepsel) Commings. He was a 1948 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. Elton began his employment with Erdman Motors of Manitowoc in November of 1948 and retired from Maritime Ford after 43 years of service in November of 1991. He was a member of Lakeshore United Methodist Church. Elton enjoyed fishing for may years with his fishing buddies.

Survivors include one sister and brother-in-law: Judy (Jim) Bell, Winter Garden, FL;  nephews and nieces include: Kathy Hansen, Manitowoc, Barrett (Debbie) Stueck, Manitowoc, Nathan Stueck, Manitowoc and his special friend, Katie Schuller, Wendy (Stephen) Mclain, Hilton Head Island, SC, Debbie (Dana) Rohr, Manitowoc, Michael (Tammy) Kabat, Manitowoc; other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Erhardt and Gerda Commings; one sister and two brothers-in-law: Shirley (Jim) Stueck and Gary Kabat.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 7, 2023 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 S.14th St, Manitowoc. The Rev. Cherie Forret will officiate with burial to follow in the Knollwood Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, April 7, 2023 from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am.
