Eleanor "Mutsie" F. (Fochs) Shea

Eleanor “Mutsie” F. Shea, 95, St. Nazianz passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Alexian Village in Milwaukee.

Mutsie was born on April 5, 1927 in Mosinee to the late Norman and Pauline (Schaaf) Fochs. She was a 1945 graduate of Mosinee High School. On June 9, 1951, she married Robert Shea at St. Paul Catholic Church in Mosinee. He preceded her in death on February 24, 1999. From 1945-1956, Mutsie was employed with the Society of Divine Savior, which was known as the Publishing Department of St. Nazianz, she then worked as a bank teller for St. Nazianz State Bank for 25 years.

Mutsie was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz, where she enjoyed volunteering her time for various activities. Mutsie was an avid bowler and served as secretary of the Valders couples league.  She found Jazzercise later in life and couldn’t get enough of it or of the friends she made there.

Mutsie is survived by her two sons: Timothy (Lynn) Shea, and Patrick Shea; grandchildren: Ryan (Adrienne) Shea, Heather (Jared) Summers, and Emily (Joseph) Laurin; great-grandchildren: Harper Shea, Quinn Shea, Flynn Laurin, Oliver Laurin, and Archer Summers; and brother: James (Norma) Fochs. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mutsie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Robert; her parents-in-law: Cornelius and Edna Shea; sister: Mary Ellen (Robert) Staszak; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: James Shea, Paul Shea, William Shea, Thomas Shea,  Francis (Lorrie) Shea, Terrence Shea, and Maureen Shea; and special aunt-in-law: Agnes Lambries.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at St. Gregory Catholic Church, 212 Church Street, St. Nazianz, Rev. William Brunner will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at the church from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Mutsie will be laid to rest at Knollwood Mausoleum.
