Edwin M Reif

Edwin M. Reif, age 101 of rural Francis Creek, passed away unexpectedly late Wednesday evening, July 14, 2021 at his residence with his son Thomas at his side.

Edwin was born on May 24, 1920 in the Town of Kossuth, son of the late Mathias and Rose (Hutterer) Reif. He attended local schools. On January 22, 1944 he married the former Mary Jane Newman at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on June 25, 2003. Edwin farmed in the Town of Kossuth and also worked in electrical maintenance for the Manitowoc Company for 14 years. He was a member of the Electrician’s Union and St. Anne Catholic Church of Francis Creek. In Edwin’s free time he enjoyed making wood, listening to Polka music and watching the Green Bay Packers.

Survivors include one son: Thomas Reif, rural Francis Creek; three daughters and two sons-in-law: Lynn (Jerry) Mathews, Kansas City, MO, Donna (Michael) Komoroski, Two Rivers, Gail Reif, Manitowoc; ten grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; son and daughter-in-law: Lloyd (Karen) Reif; one grandson: Kevin Komoroski; three brothers and six sisters.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 19, 2021 at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Christin Raj Arulanandu. Entombment will be at a later date at the Knollwood Mausoleum, Town of Kossuth.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, July 19, 2021 at St. Anne Catholic Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.
