Dorothy Mleziva Obituary

Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Dorothy Marie Mleziva, died peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, December 14th, 2021 after an impressive 93 years of life. She was born on November 28th, 1928 to Marcella and Victor Yohanek in their Kellnersville home. In her early life she worked in her father’s mechanic garage and hardware store, and delighted in learning all the tools and tricks of the trade. She graduated from Mishicot High School in 1944, then went on to meet her favorite dance partner and love of her life, Robert Mleziva. They were married on a Friday morning, May 13th 1950, at St. Joseph’s in Kellnersville. They raised six children on a large farm between their childhood homes of Kellnersville and Maribel in Wisconsin. There she was known to entertain and feed anyone who visited, and many did. In 1994 she and Robert moved to Boise, Idaho. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, caring for her dogs and cats, playing cards, and teaching her grandchildren how to bake and cook. She spent her free time volunteering at the Morrison Center for Performing Arts, and St. John’s Cathedral. She met many friends and took joy in all the activities the local Senior Center had to offer. Dorothy always carried a kind heart and a quick wit, making sure everyone who met her knew how much she loved them. She was always happiest in a home filled with laughter and family. Even in her last words she made sure to say “I love you so much. Always remember that.”

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her parents, Marcella and Victor Yohanek, her sister Donna, and great grandchild, Mason. Dorothy’s love and light is carried on by her surviving family: sister Diane (Dave) Ange, daughter Jean (Bruce) Wozniak, daughter Joann (Bruce) Chandler, son Roy (Ellen) Mleziva, daughter Joyce (Douglas) Schleis, son David (Sue) Mleziva, and son Jon (Ann) Mleziva; grandchildren Jason (Jamie) Wozniak, Luke (Amy) Wozniak, Katherine (BJ) Caelwaerts, Colleen Mleziva, Emylie (Beef Tracy) Schleis, Hannah Schleis, Jordan (Ploy Pailin) Mleziva, Aaron Mleziva, Ethan Mleziva, and Leah Mleziva; great grandchildren Brookelynn DeJardin, Deanna Wozniak, Skie Wozniak, Anthony Wozniak, Knox Wozniak, Rebel Wozniak, Kyle Caelwaerts, Logan Caelwaerts, and Jadon Mleziva.
