Barbara Kakatsch, 72, of Fond Du Lac passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at her home.
Barb was born on August 12, 1949 in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Orgena (Desterheft) Kakatsch, Sr. Barb was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, she furthered her education at UW-Milwaukee, graduating with a Bachelor’s in Social Work. She worked as a social worker in various settings over the years, and lastly at the ARC of Fond Du Lac before her retirement. Barb was an avid reader, and enjoyed crafting, gardening, world travel, and taking care of animals, especially her beloved cats over the years; Tiki, Betsy, Kitty, Luna, and Grayson and her dog, Cody.
Barb is survived by her brother and sister-in-law: Lawrence “Larry” Kakatsch, Jr., and his wife, Debra Ward Kakatsch; two nephews and one niece: Jason Kakatsch and his wife, Laura Wilke Kakatsch; and their three children: Ella, Nadia, and Anna; Justin Kakatsch and his fiancé, Sara Gonsman, and his two children: Bentley and Amaya, and Sara's son: Teddy Jackson; Stephanie Kakatsch Snyder and her children: Phelyx Snyder, and Arcadia Hanson.
Cremation has occurred. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday, May 20, 2022 from 2-5:00 pm at the Pfeffer Funeral Home location, 928 S. 14th Street.

A special thank you to the young man in the neighborhood, Jonah, and his parents, for always helping Barb around the house and yard. Jonah helped Barb with many special projects; also a special thank you to Mary Ellen, who lived across the street and helped taking care of Barb’s precious animals during her hospital stay; Fond Du Lac Police Department, Paramedics and Medical Examiner’s Office, as well as many friends and past co-workers in Fond Du Lac who also helped her.
